London Exhibitions

On Friday I spent the day seeing Art in London.

Katy Moran at Parasol Unit

What a fantastic painter Katy Moran is. I could have spent all day here surrounded by such exuberant and inspirational paintings.

Sarah Sze at Victoria Miro

Next door Sarah Sze's installations explore the natural world in surprising ways. I particularly like the newspaper works as I collage with newspapers myself.

This is exhibition continues at Victoria Miro, Mayfair.

Adventures of the Black Square at the Whitechapel Gallery

I did resent the high entry ticket for this show but actually it was worth it as I spent a couple of intense hours exploring this exhibition full of so many iconic works.

Also at the Whitechapel Gallery is David Bachelor's exhibition, Found Monochromes which reminded me of Mark Wallinger's work MARK, 2010 which was at the Baltic Gallery in 2012.

Ian Breakwell The Diary Reinvented at Anthony Reynolds Gallery

Ian Breakwell was a great artist whose work I really admire. Below is part of a diary that he kept for a year.

Mira Schendel Monotypes and Rashid Johnson Smile at Hauser & Wirth Savile Row

Both worth seeing.

Delicate drawings on delicate Japanese paper by Mira Schendel.

Disturbing images by Rashid Johnson.

Joseph Kosuth, Amnesia: Various, Luminous, Fixed at Spruth Magers

This exhibition is packed full of neon text works.

Serge Poliakoff : Silent Paintings at The Timothy Taylor Gallery

These paintings from the 1950s and 1960s are a joy to behold.
