The Blazing World by Siri Hustvedt

I have just finished reading the impressive book The Blazing World by Siri Hustvedt. A clever book where the author pieces together Harriet Burden's life as an artist in New York in what seems like a piece of research through her notebooks, reviews, friends' and family's testaments and many more documents. Now dead we see the artist's life revealed before us with all her thwarted dreams as an artist. I will say no more as I don't want to give anything away but it is well worth a read. Not surprisingly it has been shortlisted for the Man Booker. I think it is only out in hardback but I borrowed it from the library.
